Hey there! I’m Alyssa
As a BFA Graphic Designer & Artist, I've been able to refine my craft through the years by utilizing a variety of mediums, always searching for the intersection where design meets nature. This exploration has led me to discover a profound connection between the two—where the organic beauty of the natural world informs and elevates my design process. The foundation of this journey can be traced back to two pivotal periods in my life, each of which shaped my creative path in ways that continue to guide me today...
1 ) Childhood, where most days were spent in outdoor Michigan amidst the grass making “potions,” building forts in the woods, or tracing pictures in the snow
2 ) Time spent as an MSU student, where assignments were completed on park benches or next to big windows that offered views of the university's agriculture & architecture
Through these experiences, my design philosophy became clear;
Nature instills the importance of serenity and mindfulness, revealing that the core principles of great design—balance, repetition, rhythm, pattern, and texture—are inherently reflected in the natural world.
The greatest lesson which arises, teaches us to slow down, align with our environments, and pay attention to the complexities and details that make both nature and design truly remarkable.
